Quick! What is the first word that comes to your mind when you hear the words “computer classes?” Did you think of these words: fun, creative, inspiring, challenging? Hopefully, you didn’t think of the word “boring.” Some experts say that the American classroom has made computer class way too boring. Computer Adventures in Westchester wants to redefine the way that people, specifically kids, think about classes focused on various aspects of computers. Continue reading to see all that we have to offer your kid at Computer Adventures.
Animation
Think back to the days when you were a kid sitting in front of the TV on Saturday morning watching cartoons. You probably didn’t notice it at the time, but not all animation was equally created. In our classes, kids learn various techniques involved with animation such as overlay effects, still and moving backgrounds, 2D and 3D animation, and stop-motion animation. They will be using an intuitive animation software that is not only exciting and engaging, but also a great way to introduce them to professional animation skills! You will have access to your student’s projects, resource files, and software after they complete this computer class. 
Digital Graphics
Not every aspect of computers is math and science related. There is definitely a place for artists to bring their skills and talents, and that is the world of digital graphics and graphic design. Students will learn about storyboarding, scene creation, character development, and storylines. While they work on these aspects, they will also be learning how to integrate technology to bring their stories to life. Some of our computer classes offer 3D modeling where kids will learn how to use professional-level modeling software to sculpt, arrange, and create their own 3D characters. 3D printing is another class in our digital graphics curriculum offering. Your child will learn the parts of a 3D printer, how it works, and the materials used. They will also be able to create 3D models using CAD (computer-aided design) software. Just like our animation classes, you will be able to download your student’s projects and files after they complete their course.
Electronics
For students in Westchester who are interested in learning about electronics, we offer two classes called Snap Circuits and Electronic Gizmos. In this class, students will not be able to take the building sets home, but the sets can be purchased from vendors. Snap Circuits is an educational toy that helps kids learn the basics of electricity and circuitry in a fun and engaging manner. They are safe to work with because they are solderless and simply snap together. Electronic Gizmos encourages kids to explore their inner inventor. There are motors, wheels, lights, buzzers, etc. that allow kids to create remote control objects, bubble blowing devices, and other inventions.
